Match both ends of the connection

Check the device port and the charger port. A USB-A to USB-C cable and a USB-C to USB-C cable fit different adapter connections. Share clear photographs or model numbers if you are unsure. Do not force a connector or rely on a product title that only says universal.

Treat power as a compatibility question

Charging performance depends on the device, adapter, cable and supported protocol together. A larger wattage printed on one item does not guarantee that your phone will charge at that rate. Ask for the exact article specifications and compare them with the device maker’s requirements.

Separate charging from data and display

A cable suitable for charging may not support the data speed or video function you need. If you want to connect a monitor, transfer files or use a laptop dock, state that purpose before purchase. USB-C describes a connector; it does not by itself establish every feature.

Choose a useful length and care routine

Measure the distance from your socket or desk to the device. Leave enough slack to avoid pulling on the port. Stop using visibly damaged charging equipment, and follow the manufacturer’s safety instructions. Buy an extra adapter only when your existing one does not meet the selected product’s requirements.
